The Whangārei Maritime Festival is a family-friendly celebration of our maritime past, present, and future. Organised by the Black Ball Maritime Society, the festival brings the Town Basin alive with boats, interactive exhibits, storytelling, and entertainment. With plenty of fun, free activities on offer for all ages, the event also highlights local organisations, career pathways, and the marine industry’s impact on our regional economy.
